Ross Magnuson
I am a Montana native
who enjoys the beauty of the scenic landscapes of "The Treasure State". Born in Havre, Montana and raised
on the High Line I have enjoyed the prairies and flat lands. I attended college in Glendive which allowed me to experience
the badlands and wide open spaces of Eastern Montana. I now live in Billings where I get to enjoy all the landscapes, along
with the mountains.
I have been a hobbyist photographer since 1977. I converted from traditional film to digital photography
about twelve years ago. This allows me to have my "dark room" on my computer and enjoy more of the artistic
aspects of photography. My favorite shooting subjects are landscapes with western appeal. I refer to it as "wrangling
the light".
I'm a current member of the Professional Photographers
of America, Montana Professional Photographer's Association, the Photographic Institute Of The Yellowstone, the Photographic
Society of America and president of the Billings Camera Club.
In April of 2011, 2012
and 2013 I was recognized for my accomplishments in the field of photography and awarded a certificate for Montana
"Top Ten" Photographers by the Montana Professional Photographers Association.
